Summer Camps at Seattle Amistad School

Hiking, arts & crafts, outdoor games, and field trips — a look inside our Into the Wild summer camp.

Summer at Amistad looks a little different than the school year — and that is exactly the point.

Into the Wild

Our flagship summer camp, Into the Wild, runs eight weeks between mid-June and mid-August. Each week has a theme, a field trip, and a language focus — all in Spanish, all outside as much as possible.

A typical week

  • Monday: Trail hike at Discovery Park or Seward Park
  • Tuesday: Studio day — natural dyeing, clay, or block printing
  • Wednesday: Big field trip — Woodland Park Zoo, the beach, or a working farm
  • Thursday: Games, songs, and cooking a shared lunch
  • Friday: Family potluck and week-end showcase

Who it's for

Campers ages 4–11. You don't need to be an Amistad student, and you don't need to speak Spanish. Our counselors scaffold language for every level, and most kids surprise themselves by the end of the second week.

Registration opens in February. Weeks fill quickly — half our families sign up for the whole summer.
