Summer Camps at Seattle Amistad School

At Seattle Amistad School, learning doesn’t stop when students leave the classroom. In fact, some of the most powerful educational experiences happen when students step outside traditional learning spaces and engage directly with the world around them.

Our approach to bilingual and multicultural education is rooted in curiosity, exploration, and real-world connection. Through hands-on learning, outdoor experiences, and cultural immersion, we help students develop confidence, creativity, and a deep understanding of the world they are growing into.

This summer, we are excited to open two of our most engaging programs to the broader Seattle community: Robotics for Kids and Into the Wild Summer Camp.

Robotics for Kids

Technology and innovation are shaping the future, and our Robotics Camp introduces students to these concepts through hands-on exploration.

Students will design, build, and experiment with robotics while learning foundational principles of engineering, collaboration, and problem solving. Through interactive projects, children develop both technical skills and creative thinking as they bring their ideas to life.

Our goal is not just to teach robotics, but to empower students to think like inventors and innovators.

Into the Wild Summer Camp

The natural world is one of the most powerful classrooms we have.

Our Into the Wild Summer Camp encourages students to step outdoors and engage with nature through hiking, creative projects, outdoor games, and local field trips. These experiences build resilience, teamwork, curiosity, and appreciation for the environment.

Outdoor learning has been shown to improve focus, boost confidence, and strengthen social skills, making it a valuable complement to academic learning.

Education That Extends Beyond the Classroom

At Amistad, we believe meaningful learning happens when students connect their studies to real experiences. This philosophy is reflected not only in our summer programs, but also in our global learning initiatives.

Each year, our middle school students participate in an immersive class trip to a Spanish-speaking country. These experiences bring language and cultural studies to life while helping students develop independence, leadership, and global awareness.

In Spring 2026, our students will travel to Puerto Rico for a week of cultural exploration, language immersion, and hands-on learning rooted in history, identity, and global citizenship.

This experience allows students to practice their bilingual skills in real environments, deepen their understanding of culture, and see themselves reflected in the broader world.
