Cheerful chatter and raucous laughter, colorful music and dance, community and celebration… this is alboroto
Seattle Amistad School is partnering with local latino artists and organizations to bring you Alboroto, a concert to celebrate latino community and culture. Artists from different regions of Central and South America will share the stage to offer an evening of joy, music and dance. This event is part of Amistad’s Week of Action 2018. During this week we want to bring together our communities, large and small, to strengthen our connections, create new ones, and mark our path towards the future we want for our kids. Alboroto reminds us that joy is also a means of resisting forces of oppression in our society. Racism, marginalization and violence are undeniable dynamics in our society, and their growing influence urges us to take action. Amistad is committed to helping dismantle those dynamics and to work with our kids, teachers, families and our large community towards a society that can offer justice and dignity for everyone. Join us, and stand with us!
